5.0 out of 5 stars What a cool keyboard, March 23, 2011
This review is from: Thermaltake Tt eSPORTS MEKA G1 Mechanical Professional Gaming Keyboard 1000Hz Polling n-key Rollover KB-MEG005US (Black) (Personal Computers)
This is probably the best keyboard I have used, and I've been an avid gamer and professional for many years now. I've used logitech, dell, Razer, and Steelseries keyboards and I can confidently say that the MEKA G1 keyboard is my favorite. I used the 7G Keyboard from Steelseries and my main problem with that was that the keys are too hard to press. The MEKA G1 solves this issue - its keys are incredibly responsive and require very little strength to press. It's hard to describe how helpful this is, especially when you're gaming for 5-6 hours, it relieves a lot of stress.

The design and layout are simple and efficient as well. There aren't a lot of fancy bells and whistles, you get a nice clean feel when using it. Overall, this keyboard is great and I'd recommend it to anyone!

So I was going to write about the pros and cons about this keyboard, but I couldn't find anything to put under cons.
My reason for buying this is because my g19 broke and I wanted a mechanical keyboard.

Somethings I noticed:
---------------------------------------
- Solid build, feels like quality craftsmanship.
- Since the keyboard is mechanical they keys click, but not as loud as I had thought.
- Pressing the keys on this feels great because there is little force required for each key press.
- There is less delay from my key press to it's action / Very responsive.
---------------------------------------

So, many of you might be asking, "Is this the keyboard for me?"
The answer comes down to if you don't need lights or macro capabilities. If you can get past those functions or don't need those functions, I highly recommend this keyboard to everyone.

Bottom line: Typing is a joy and... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Best keyboard I've owned, August 11, 2011

Background:
I am primarily an FPS gamer, but I've also dabbled in World of Warcraft. I'm going to include my experiences with past keyboards, in case you are considering them as an alternative. I've owned a Razer Lycosa keyboard and a Saitek Eclipse before this one. The Saitek Eclipse (~$50 USD) was basically what I wanted in a keyboard, but suffered from ghosting issues. Ghosting is when you press several keys at once, and only some of them get recognized. For example, try typing a sentence while pushing both shift keys. Ghosting isn't an issue for some people, especially FPS players, but I guess I am a spaz and need all keys to be recognized when I play.

I got my Razer Lycosa (~$70 USD) about a year ago to remedy this problem. While this fixed the ghosting problem, it also introduced a few new problems. The touch-pad media control panel almost instantly broke. It I was ok with this because I didn't really need it, but it was kind of a hassle not having control... Read more
