4.0 out of 5 stars Great controller for Dragon Age 2/Bioware fan!, May 8, 2011
This review is from: Razer Onza tournament edition Dragon Age II (Personal Computers)
I've owned this controller for a little over a month now, played games like Call of Duty: Black Ops, Dragon Age 2, The Adventures of Captain Smiley, Portal:Still Alive and countless demos.

First the good/great things about the controller:

+The controller and the top of the analog sticks are coated in rubber, similar to the Call of Duty:Black Ops controller; the Onza is not as coated as thick as the BO controller and it makes the Onza GREAT for marathon gaming sessions.

+15 ft long cord is plenty long enough if you are worried about length when compared to the wired or wireless M$ version.

+The cord is braided to combat the cord from getting tangled and to help to keep it from getting frayed.

+XYAB buttons plus bumpers are clicky buttons that give with a satisfying click when the button/s are pressed.

+Mappable shoulder buttons work well once you train your self to use them(they are GREAT for games like Call... Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars FPS Tournaments only, December 24, 2011
This review is from: Razer Onza tournament edition Dragon Age II (Personal Computers)
I'm something of a classic gamer - the likes of Mega Man, Sonic, arcade games and such. Microsoft's silver controller with twist-up d-pad is enough for me in most instances. I have something of a weakness for unique controllers, so why not, the Razer Onza.

What I noticed immediately is that this is an FPSer's controller. I came up on games like Doom and Quake on mouse and keyboard, which to me feels more natural than any controller ever could - but that's just me. So yeah, this might be great for those Battlefield competitions, but don't expect to win any Mortal Kombat or King of Fighters tournaments any time soon with this thing. I tried a round of MK, and it was very awkward with the d-pad as individual buttons. I also tried a couple more casual games like Pinball FX2 and Rayman Origins. On the original MS Controller, my trigger fingers would get fatigued after long sessions of pinball - not so on this controller. The triggers are a bit more pronounced and easier to... Read more

2.0 out of 5 stars Great product...in theory at least., October 22, 2011
This review is from: Razer Onza tournament edition Dragon Age II (Personal Computers)
I bought 2 of these and replaced both twice. I love the hyperresponse buttons I think all controllers should have them. There's a great feel to actually hearing your click from each button press. They are also extremely easy to press so your fingers won't get tied down hammering "B" to beat down someone. The cable that comes with it feels really good as it is braided and has a huge length. A lot of people complain and say the controller feels cheap, I disagree. It feels light. I appreciate that so I don't have to pick up a 5 pound controller. The coating is nice nothing super special but a nice touch nonetheless. I really like the D-pad. It was a little sticky at first but wearing it in made it work better and better (like new speakers needing that initial wear in time). The shoulder buttons are great I never really used the added one but I could see its use. I HATED the triggers. They have an awkward position. They sit slightly too far out to comfortably grasp the controller and... Read more
